What this blog has always allowed me to do is provide an outlet for what some would describe as a shopping problem whether it’s for furniture or shoes. Every time fashion week or a major season change rolls around I find myself avoiding temptation. Since I’ve gotten older I’ve discovered that I prefer to go the investment piece route. I’d rather drop a lot of cash on a few pieces I’ll have for a long time than buy tons of trendy, low-quality things I’ll want to get rid of by next year. The inspiration behind this post are theses Saint Laurent heeled sandals in an emerald green. To say I’ve been obsessed with them ever since I first saw them is an understatement. Second form of twisted inspiration, I fractured my ankle last week and now I can’t wear heels for the minimum of a month. I know it’s #firstworldproblems.
For those who are from northern areas like me, you’ll recognize fall and winter as a time to play with textures and patterns. It’s exciting to see velvet is back baby! Fun fact: when I was in the second grade I had a purple velvet t-shirt and purple velvet pants I would wear together with a slim gold belt. Yes, I was that cool. But hey I’ve always enjoyed pushing boundaries.
Below are some of the seasons hottest velvet styles in a rainbow of colors with high and low options. Links below the pictures.
